Below are the advantages of using our Boom Truck and the services we offer for the cleaning of extra-large field equipment i.e. Hydraulic Excavators & Shovels, Drills and Rope Shovels. It has been our intention to design and supply equipment specific to the task and to minimize involvement and or assistance from the client.

OUR EQUIPMENT
Our boom truck is a 2002 model Isuzu FVY 1400, fitted with an Abbey 720/58 Truck Mounted Boom Lift. The 3000 psi Hot Water Pressure Cleaner is plumbed through the boom with a plug-in outlet in the man box and a 50 meter hose reel truck mounted as an alternative pressure line for ground level work. This truck will tow a Dog Tanker Trailer that will hold 13000 litres of water and will also supply its own truck mounted and box mounted lighting plant. This means that the one unit is supplying a Hot Water Pressure Cleaner, Water, Access Equipment and a Lighting Plant.

OUR STAFF
Our standard crew consists of four staff. This gives us one person to perform aerial cleaning, one designated spotter for the working at heights aspect and two staff members to operate ground lines. So basically, one operator for each of the three pressure cleaners and one spotter. Where possible, we attempt to have every staff  member fully trained, authorized and competent in every aspect of this work.

THE ADVANTAGE
We believe that there are major advantages to using our system. The first of which has been discussed previously - that is the equipment. We supply 3 Hot Water Pressure Cleaners, an EWP or height access equipment, Lighting (including portable low voltage flood lights for in the house) and water storage capabilities for a full shift.

The second and possibly the main advantage for some, is that we can perform a service clean in less than 4 hours. This has been made possible by a client that over a four year period, has gradually requested that we shorten our cleaning window to provide less down time for the machine. Typically the Mining Dept. will want minimum down time because their budget is in tonnes. Because of this we have been able to gradually improve our equipment and adjust our procedure to perform a service style clean in less than four hours. By service style clean we still mean approximately 80% of the whole machine. This equates to 80% of boom and stick, 80% of top of house, all of inside house and about 70% of tracks and car body.

We still suggest a ten hour cleaning window for a shutdown clean which is basically 100% of the available areas of the machine. If budget is an issue which it usually is, we can perform lower cost cleans by reducing the staff numbers and increasing the clean window. Examples of this based on the clean of a Hitachi 5500 or an O & K RH340 are as follows:

• 2 staff, 8 hour window, estimated cost $5708.00 + GST
• 3 staff, 5 hour window, estimated cost $6555.00 + GST
• 4 staff, 3 hour window, estimated cost $7560.00 + GST

Please note also that these estimates in most cases will include the hand detailing of operator cab and cascade room.

SAFETY

No one can claim to be perfectly safe because sometimes accidents can be due to an act of god but we believe that we have a risk assessment process and procedures in place to reduce and minimize human cause. In the last four years, since the launch of our first boom truck, we have performed over 35,000 hours work on site and have had no LTI or minor injuries. We have had no vehicular accidents and no major incidents and have designed a job specific risk management process.

CONVENIENCE
Our system has every required component on board. There is no need for the client or the contractor to organise three or for different pieces of equipment and hope that they all arrive on time so that the job can be completed in the scheduled window of opportunity.
